At six stories, Kreitzberg Library is Norwich University’s tallest structure. Renovations completed in 2015 introduced new workstations, group-study and collaborative-learning areas, new technology-enabled classrooms, and a café. A contest to name the café came down to Parade Grounds, favored by the faculty, and the Daily Grind, which the students preferred. The students won. The Daily Grind serves coffee, snacks, and sandwiches, and surrounding tables provide ample seating. Kreitzberg Library is also home to the NU Archive and the Todd Multipurpose Room, named for the late Carol Todd, wife of NU president emeritus, General W. Russell Todd ’50. Opened in 1993, the Kreitzberg Library is named in honor of former NU Board of Trustees chair, Fred Kreitzberg ’57, and his wife, Barbara. Bricks from the Old South Barracks, destroyed by fire in 1866, adorn the library’s main entryway.
