Kreitzberg Arena

The entrance to Kreitzberg Arena, where hockey enthusiasts from all over Vermont cheer the champion Cadets hockey team, is a nod to the past. Fans entering the facility from the south pass beneath an archway reminiscent of the first indoor hockey rink at Norwich—Taylor Arena. Originally built as a riding hall in memory of Lieutenant Moses Taylor, Class of 1920, who was killed in WWI, the building was used for the polo team and equitation classes. As intimate as it was cold, Taylor was the site of many memorable hockey games. In 1997 it was leveled to make way for today’s modern arena, built with a lead gift from Fred Kreitzberg ’57 and Barbara Kreitzberg.
