The John and Mary Frances Patton Peace & War Center invites the entire Norwich University community to SAVE THE DATE for the 29th Annual Norwich University Military Writers’ Symposium scheduled for October 10 to 11, 2023 on the Norwich University campus. Virtual streaming will be available.

The only program of its kind at an American university, the Norwich University Military Writers’ Symposium convenes authors and experts in the fields of military history, intelligence, and current affairs to offer important perspectives on pressing global concerns. This year’s theme is “Train & Fight to Win: An Exploration of Global Special Operation Forces.” The symposium will emphasize Norwich University’s unique connection to the Special Operations community and feature popular authors, former operators, and other experts to discuss a variety of critical topics related to the field and the Norwich community at large. https://www.norwich.edu/military-writers-symposium

The event will also highlight the 2023 William E. Colby Military Writers’ Award winner, Charles E. Stanley, Jr. for his book Lost Airmen: The Epic Rescue of U.S. WWII Bomber Crews Stranded Behind Enemy Lines. This award is presented annually to a first solo work of fiction or nonfiction that has made a major contribution to the understanding of military history, intelligence operations or international affairs.

Meet the Authors Dinner: On Wednesday, October 11, the symposium will conclude with the not-to-be-missed Meet the Authors Dinner. Ask any former attendee and they will tell you that this dinner is a one-of-a-kind experience. Join Norwich University leadership, our special guests, other alums, and our fabulous students as we eat great food, engage in exciting conversation, and make lasting connections.

Tickets for the Meet the Authors Dinner as well as registration for the full event will be released mid to late August. You can sign up to receive a special notification before everyone else at this link.
